Gunblade
The weapon that Squall uses is called a Gunblade, and he is one of the only two gunblade specialists to be found at Balamb Garden. The other is Seifer Almasy, his one and only rival. ![]() A Gunblade is a long, sharp blade that curves into a point at one end. The handle is on the other end, along with the trigger for the gun and, on Squall's gunblade, a Griever keychain. When the trigger is pulled, the gun fires a bullet through a tunnel in the blade. The bullet then comes out the other end and hits the enemy. While Squall is attacking, press the R1 button just before he makes contact. If you time it right, it will raise the amount of damage that he causes by a fair amount.
Magazine Locations
The first thing you'll need to do if you plan to upgrade is to collect Weapons Monthly Magazines. The more of them that you read, the more weapons will become available to you. There are 7 in total:
• March: You obtain it after you defeat the Elvoret in Dollet [Field Exam]. • April: After the Squall becomes a Seed, check the desk in his new room to find the Weapons Mon Apr. • May: You can find it in the sewers in Deling City [after you complete The Tomb of the Unknown King Quest]. • June: Aquired after you defeat the BGH251F2 at the Galbadia Missile Base. • July: You can find it on the groudn in the Balamb Training Center after the Galbadia Garden Battle. • August: Check in front of the gargoyle statue in Trabia Garden to find this issue. • First Issue: As Laguna in the Lunatic Pandora Lab, if you listen to Dr. Odine's conversation, you'll hear a reference to a copy of Weapons Monthly. When you go through the lab a second time, you'll find it on the ground near the bottom of the screen. Gunblade Info
