Location
Winhill is located on the South end of the continent of Galbadia. It is surrounded by lush green flowery fields, but is notably close to the Desert Prison where Squall and his companions were detained on disc two. From Balamb, Winhill can be accessed by boat, train, garden, or using the Ragnarok.
