? Winhill ? Ellone's earliest years are spent in the small town of Winhill, where she lives with her parents in a small house next to the pub. After they are shot and killed by soldiers, Ellone is left there seemingly alone until Raine decides to take her in as her own. Eventually Laguna comes into the picture, and the three of them live there as a happy little family.
One fateful day, Ellone is kidnapped and taken to Esthar, however Laguna goes to rescue her. He finds her and sends her home to Raine, where the two of them eagerly await Laguna's return. Unbeknownst to Laguna, Raine is pregnant with his child, however she dies shortly after the baby is born without ever seeing him again. Since Laguna is still in Esthar, Ellone and Squall have no parents to take care of them, and thus are sent to live at Matron's Orphanage.
Ellone enjoyed this part of her life; it was the one time where she felt like part of a real family. She was very unsatisfied about the way thing's turned out however, and dedicated much time and effort towards finding a way for all of them to be together.
? Matron's Orphanage ? Matron's Orphanage was a small stone house located on the South-West corner of the Centra continent. It was run by the kind-hearted Edea Kramer, better known to the children as Matron. She took wonderful care of all her little ones, and they began to love her as if she were their real mother.
This is where Ellone spends her late childhood years, and where she develops her amazing friendship with Squall. Also at the orphanage are five other children: Selphie, Zell, Quistis, Irvine, and Seifer. All of them love Ellone, and see her as an older sisterly figure, however they are all somewhat resentful of Squall's constant "hogging" of her.
This was certainly a memorable period of Ellone's life because she never forgot Squall or the friendship that they shared. She also never seemed to have forgotten about the other children there and is even seen, as an adult, referring to Quistis as "Quisty".
? The White SeeD Ship ? Unfortunately, for her own protection, Ellone is sent away from the orphanage to live on the White SeeD Ship. It is constantly moving around, so as not to be found by the evil forces which are trying to get a hold of her. The ship is also heavily guarded and full of SeeD ready to fight to protect Ellone at any moment, should the need arise.
Not much is known about this portion of Ellone's life, so it is hard to determine whether or not she was happy.
