She had always been under the impression that if Laguna had stayed with Raine rather than going off to rescue her, then the two of them could have lived a perfect and happy life together. As she is viewing the events of the past, however, she is able to see things from another point of view. It is then that she realizes just how much Raine and Laguna loved her, and how miserable they would be knowing that she was dead. She comes to accept that what happened was inevitable, that it was for the best. If Laguna had not gone to save her, he and Raine would have regretted it for the rest of their lives, and they would never have been able to be fully and truly happy.
With this knowledge, Ellone learns to accept the past and the fact that no matter how hard she tries, she cannot change it. With her regrets behind her and her loved ones at her side, she is finally able to stand strong knowing that Raine will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved her.
