「 01. The Great Deku Tree 」 Through out the series, the Great Deku Tree shows up in various different shapes and forms, however he always remains the forest guardian. I am unsure on the exact details of his, shall we say, transitions from one form to the next, but I have my opinions. Please note that much of what is written here is my opinions, and often based on assumptions so it may easily be incorrect. If that is the case, I would appreciate it if you would contact me with the correct info. Thanks.「 Form 01 」 (DESCRIPTION)
The Deku Tree was the one who created the woods of Hyrule. He also served as the Guardian of the Kokiri children, and of the Kokiri Emerald (one of three items required to enter the Sacred Realm in the Temple of Time). The Deku Tree used his last bit of energy to warn Link about the fate of Hyrule, and to start him off on his journey to save it. (STATISTICS) The basics.

「 Form 03 」 (DESCRIPTION)
In this game, the Great Deku Tree remains a Forest Guardian, however he guards a slightly different race of children known as the Koroks (as opposed to the Kokiris). Every year, he and the Koroks perform a festival, ending with his giving them seeds, and all but two of them leaving to plant them. There is a belief that the Koroks are simply an evolved version of the Kokiris (who changed form to adapt to their environment), however I disagree with this. I believe that they are a race of their own, and since it is a game that partially requires ones own imagination, I can believe so without worry. Also, there is a Kokiri shown/referred to in Wind Waker, and he looks nothing like a Korok. (STATISTICS) The basics.
